Dr. Scott's Habit Lab

Small habits. Steady progress. Meaningful change.

I'm offering this new monthly membership to offer ongoing inspiration, resources, and support designed to help you create meaningful change by focusing on one well-chosen habit at a time.

As a founding member, you can keep this price for as long as you want, as the scope of the membership deepens and expands! You can offer feedback that can shape the direction of the membership as well. You will receive the first Habit Lab prompt later today, along with details for this month’s coaching check-in.

Why The Habit Lab?

Most people start the year with good intentions.

And most people don’t lack motivation, insight, or intelligence — yet their goals quietly fall away anyway.

Research on behavior change consistently shows that a majority of New Year’s resolutions are abandoned within the first few weeks, often by mid-January. More broadly, decades of psychological research suggest that knowing what we want to do is very different from being able to do it consistently, especially when life is stressful, busy, or emotionally demanding.

This isn’t a personal failure.

It’s a mismatch between how change is usually approached and how people actually function.

Why This Happens

As a coach with a PhD in psychology, I’ve spent years studying — and working with — people who are thoughtful, self-aware, and highly capable, yet frustrated by how hard it can be to follow through on the changes they care about.

What research shows — and what I see repeatedly in coaching — is that lasting change depends less on motivation and more on:

  • How habits and goals are structured

  • Whether stress, emotion, and energy are taken into account

  • Whether change is introduced gradually rather than all at once

  • Whether people feel supported rather than judged when things don’t go perfectly

Big changes are possible.
But they’re most reliably built through small, well-supported habits that accumulate over time.

What the Habit Lab Is

Dr. Scott’s Habit Lab is a monthly membership designed to help you build habits that support meaningful change — whether your focus is well-being, productivity, focus, or creating a life that feels more intentional and sustainable.

Rather than trying to change everything at once, the Habit Lab focuses on one carefully chosen habit at a time, supported by psychology-informed coaching, reflection, and real-world application.

This approach is designed to help you:

  • Make progress without overwhelm

  • Adapt habits to your life, personality, and circumstances

  • Build momentum that continues even when motivation fluctuates

How It Works

Each month in Dr. Scott’s Habit Lab, we focus on one habit at a time, chosen for its ability to support meaningful change without overwhelm. And if you join now, as a founding member, you will only ever pay $26 per month as long as you stay with the membership.

The structure is intentionally simple and sustainable:

  • A short monthly teaching or framework
At the beginning of each month, you’ll receive a clear, practical overview of the habit we’re working with, including the psychology behind it and how to begin in a way that fits your life.

  • A live group coaching check-in
Mid-month, we’ll meet for a brief, focused coaching session designed to help you reflect, troubleshoot challenges, and make small adjustments that support follow-through. These sessions are coaching-oriented (not lectures) and centered on real-life application.

  • Ongoing written support and reflection prompts
You’ll also receive gentle weekly prompts to help you stay engaged, notice what’s working, and adapt as needed.

The goal isn’t rigid adherence.
It’s building habits in a way that feels realistic, supportive, and sustainable.

And, again, as a founding member, you can offer feedback and shape how this membership grows and evolves, but only ever pay this introductory price.

The Habit Lab is a coaching and educational membership, not therapy.

Who This Is For

The Habit Lab is for you if:

  • You want change that’s grounded in research, so you know you're going down a proven path

  • You’ve set goals before that made sense on paper but were hard to sustain

  • You want support that respects both ambition and well-being

  • You’re interested in habits as a pathway to larger life changes

  • You know you're ready to make changes, but know it will be far more doable with some structure and support

You don’t need to start from scratch, and you don’t need to have everything figured out.

Just move forward.

What Happens In the Lab

Over time, the Habit Lab is designed to help you:

  • Build consistency without relying on constant self-pressure

  • Develop a sustainable, effective relationship with your goals

  • Stay on track, even during stressful or unpredictable periods

  • Strengthen confidence in your ability to create change

  • Use habits as a foundation for larger personal or professional shifts, so progress feels automatic

Small habits create leverage.
Steady progress builds trust.
Meaningful change follows.

One Habit at a Time (Designed for Real Life)

Instead of juggling multiple goals or trying to change everything at once, the Habit Lab focuses on one carefully chosen habit each month.

This approach is grounded in behavioral science, which shows that change is more sustainable when it’s specific, manageable, and Integrated gradually into daily life

By narrowing the focus, you’re able to give each habit the attention it needs — and build momentum without overwhelm.

Psychology-Informed Frameworks (Not Just Tips)

Each month begins with a short, clear framework that explains:

  • Why this habit matters

  • How it works psychologically

  • What makes it easier (or harder) to sustain

This isn’t about rigid rules or “do more” advice.
It’s about understanding how habits actually form — and using that understanding to make change feel more doable and less frustrating.

Support That Helps You Adjust, Not Quit

The Habit Lab includes gentle weekly prompts and a live monthly coaching check-in to help you reflect, troubleshoot, and adapt your habit as real life unfolds.

The Habit Lab is designed to help you:

  • Notice what’s working

  • Make small course corrections

  • Stay engaged even when motivation dips

This support helps you keep going.
